Frequently Asked Questions
The length of hair should be at least a quarter of an inch long, or a grain of rice. For most people, this means letting the hair grow for about two weeks before waxing, or else the wax will not adhere, and you will have many hairs left over.
Every 4-6 weeks. Hair grows in cycles, so when you wax every 4-6 weeks, we’re catching more hairs in the same growth stage. Waiting longer than 6 weeks lets the hair fully reset, making waxing more uncomfortable. Waxing is like training these hairs. If you stop training them, you don’t get the same results.
The actual pain from waxing is rapid and very tolerable, especially when it’s done consistently. Pain comes from the hair being attached to the follicle, not from the skin being damaged. When the hair is removed, the nerve reacts, but only for a second.
We are a small, boutique waxing salon working out of two private suites. This allows us to be very intentional about every client's experience. We focus on how you actually feel during your service, from the moment you walk in. There's no pressure to buy products or sign up for memberships, and we take time to educate you on aftercare and maintenance. Many clients tell us it feels more like spending time with a friend than a typical salon visit. It’s personable and light-hearted, but always professional. Chains focus on volume; we focus on you.
Do not trim or tweeze any hairs before your wax. Trimming increases the risk of the hair being cut too short. If trimming is necessary, we will do it for you!
For best results, exfoliate 1-2 days before. Getting rid of excess dry skin cells makes it easier for the hair to come out. Do not put lotion on the area the day of your wax; this makes it difficult for the wax to adhere to your skin.
We'll educate you on proper aftercare during your appointment, but here are the basics:
On the day of your wax, your skin is delicate and sensitive, and the follicles are open. Keep the area clean and dry. No moisturizers the day of. Wear loose-fit clothing.
What NOT to do after: For the first 24 hours:
● No moisturizer
● No exercise or physical activity that will cause sweating or friction to the area.
● No pools, baths, or hot tubs
● No tanning (for 48 hours)

Yes, you can! Your comfort is our priority, and we will make any adjustments needed or wanted. For services that we typically have clients lie on their stomachs, we have you lie on your side. For services done while lying flat on your back, we adjust the spa table so your head and torso are elevated. We check your comfort throughout the service. We also have snacks, water, and easily accessible restrooms!
After you book your appointment, you will get a welcome text with the intake form and directions on how to find us. From there, you can call or text us with any additional questions. We are very responsive!
We are in Coachlight Salon Suites, which has a comfy lobby for you to wait in. Your waxer (Taylor or Sterling) will pick you up from the lobby once you text us. We do not have a receptionist, so clients text when they arrive. We prefer to walk you to the suite with us. For everyone’s comfort and privacy, we have Do Not Disturb signs on our doors. We appreciate our clients respecting this!
Once in the suite, we will confirm your services, go over your intake form, and address any questions you may have.
You will receive a consultation to communicate your wants and needs.
Powder is applied to the skin to form a barrier between the skin and the wax, and to absorb any oils or moisture. Hard wax, or film wax, is used for all facial and brow waxes. Our wax does not stick to the skin. It shrink wraps around the hair, making it easy to remove completely from the root.
After your wax, we apply aloe vera gel to soothe, cool, and moisturize the area, helping reduce any redness.
We step out of the suite and give you privacy if you are removing any clothing or wish to freshen up.
